Eco Round:

An eco round is a round in which a team intentionally spends little or no money on weapons and equipment, usually to save for a stronger buy in a later round. In Counter-Strike 2, teams use eco rounds when they cannot afford a full purchase or when preserving money is more important than trying to win the current round.

Eco rounds matter because they help a team manage its economy over the course of a match. Players may buy only pistols or minimal utility and focus on limiting losses, damaging the opponent’s economy, or setting up a future buy round.
