Rank (Skill Group):

Rank, or skill group, is the competitive rating that places a player in a level of matchmaking based on performance and wins. In Counter-Strike 2, it is used to match players with others of similar skill, helping create more balanced competitive games.

Ranks matter because they track progression over time and signal a player’s experience in a given mode or playlist. They are separate from match outcomes themselves: winning improves rank progression, while losing can slow or reverse it.
