Spraying is the act of holding down the fire button to fire a long, continuous stream of bullets rather than single shots or short bursts. In Counter-Strike 2, spraying is used in close and medium-range fights to keep pressure on an opponent and finish engagements quickly.

Because bullets follow weapon-specific recoil patterns, effective spraying requires controlling the crosshair as the magazine empties. Players often practice spray control to make automatic weapons more accurate during sustained fire.
