Dire is one of the two teams and map sides in Dota 2, opposite the Radiant. It refers to the side a player is on in a match, which affects spawn locations, base position, and the layout of lanes, jungle, towers, and map objectives.

Players and commentators use “Dire” to describe team side, strategies, and map control, such as when discussing Dire jungle, Dire advantage, or Dire-side high ground.
