Disable:

A disable is an effect or ability that stops a hero from acting normally, such as preventing movement, attacks, or spellcasting. In Dota 2, disables are used to control enemy heroes, set up kills, interrupt channeling spells, and protect teammates during fights.

Common disables include stun, silence, hex, root, and sleep effects. Teams often combine disables with damage so an enemy cannot escape or respond.
