Making space in Dota 2 means drawing enemy attention, pressure, or resources away from the rest of the team so allies can farm, push, or take objectives more safely. It is often done by showing on the map, threatening a lane, forcing rotations, or starting fights that create room elsewhere.

The term usually describes a utility role rather than a scoreline; a hero can “make space” even without many kills if their actions keep opponents busy and open up the map for teammates.
