Mid / Midlane:

Mid, or midlane, is the central lane on the Dota 2 map and the lane position usually assigned to a single hero. It is often played by a core hero that needs early experience and farm, since the lane is shorter and more exposed than the side lanes.

Because mid heroes reach levels and key items quickly, the role often shapes the pace of the game through rotations, rune control, and pressure on other lanes.
