Pick:

A pick is a single elimination or kill on an opposing player. In Overwatch 2, teams often use picks to gain a temporary numbers advantage before pushing an objective, taking space, or starting a fight.

Because fights can swing quickly, getting the first pick is often important: it can force the other team to retreat, use cooldowns defensively, or fight at a disadvantage. The term can also describe a player who gets eliminations reliably, as in a “good pick” or “getting picks.”
