Tracking is the aim skill of keeping a crosshair smoothly on a moving target while firing, so shots continue to land as the target changes direction. In Overwatch 2, it matters most for heroes with automatic or rapid-fire weapons, where consistent aim and target leading help maintain damage over time. Good tracking also supports target switching and pressure in close- to mid-range fights.
