Boost management is the practice of using boost efficiently and keeping enough in reserve to stay useful in play. It includes choosing when to collect boost pads or large boost canisters, when to spend boost on speed or recovery, and when to conserve it for defense or aerial challenges.

Good boost management helps a player rotate effectively, maintain pressure, and avoid getting stranded out of position. In Rocket League, teams often track boost to decide whether to attack, retreat, or challenge the ball.
