Catch is the act of receiving or controlling the ball cleanly, usually by matching its speed and direction so it settles onto the car instead of bouncing away. In Rocket League, a good catch helps a player keep possession, slow the play, and set up a dribble, flick, or controlled pass.

The term is most often used when a player traps a rolling or falling ball with the car’s wheels, roof, or hood, making the next touch easier and less predictable for defenders.
