Ceiling Pinch:

A ceiling pinch is a shot or clear created when the ball is driven into the ceiling so it compresses between the car and the arena surface, launching away at high speed.

It is usually attempted from the air after a jump or aerial carry, and it matters because the rebound can produce powerful, awkward angles that are difficult for defenders and goalkeepers to read. Ceiling pinches are often used to turn a soft touch into a fast attack, especially when the ball is near the opponent’s backboard or the center of the field. For example, a player may pop the ball up, follow it to the ceiling, and hit it again so it ricochets downfield toward net or into open space for a teammate.
