A double touch is a shot in which a player hits the ball twice in quick succession, often by striking it off the backboard or another surface and then following up the rebound before it lands or is cleared. It is used to create difficult, high-angle scoring chances and to keep control of a play after the first touch. In Rocket League, double touches are valued because they can beat defenders who expect a single shot or a simple rebound.
