Powerslide, also called handbrake, is a driving mechanic that lets a car lose traction and slide while turning. In Rocket League, it is used to make sharper turns, adjust a car’s angle quickly, and maintain speed while repositioning after a touch or rotation.

Players often combine powerslide with boost, jumps, or half-turns to recover faster and line up more precise movements on the field.
