Tap / Tapping:

Tap or tapping is firing a single shot, or a very short burst, instead of spraying continuously. In VALORANT, players tap to keep their aim accurate, especially at longer range where recoil and spread make sustained fire less reliable.

Tapping is often used when holding angles, taking first contact, or finishing an opponent with controlled shots. It is a core gunplay technique alongside burst-firing and spraying.
