Smoke Wall / Wall of Smoke:

A smoke wall, or wall of smoke, is a line or cluster of smoke grenades used to block sightlines and create temporary cover across part of a map.

In Counter-Strike 2, players use a smoke wall to deny vision from common angles, mask a team’s movement, or split a site into safer sections during a push or retake. It matters because it changes what can be seen and challenged without needing to win a direct duel, letting a team cross open space, isolate defenders, or delay an enemy advance. For example, a team attacking a bombsite may throw two adjacent smokes to block both the site entrance and the sniper angle behind it, making it harder for defenders to trade kills through open ground.
