Pushing:

Pushing is the act of advancing a lane by destroying enemy towers and other objectives while your creeps are present. In Dota 2, teams push to gain map control, open safe areas to farm, and pressure the enemy base, often by grouping heroes and using strong lane-clear or tower damage.

Pushing can refer to a single lane being pressured or to a team’s overall game plan of taking structures instead of only fighting hero-to-hero.
