A whiff is a missed attempt to hit the ball, usually because a player was out of position, misjudged the bounce, or mistimed the car’s touch.

In Rocket League, whiffs can lead to lost possession, open nets, and failed clears or shots. The term is often used to describe both individual mistakes and situations where a player barely misses a challenge or aerial.
