Half Buy:

A half buy is a round where a team spends only part of its money on weapons, shields, and utility instead of fully buying, usually to preserve credits for a later round. In VALORANT, half buys are used when a full buy is not affordable but a team still wants a better chance to contest the round than with a pure save.

Teams may half buy after losing several rounds in a row, after a reset, or to set up a stronger buy in the next round. The tradeoff is lower equipment quality now in exchange for better economy later.
