KAST is a round-performance stat that counts the rounds in which a player either gets a Kill, an Assist, Survives, or Traded a teammate.
It is used in VALORANT to describe how often a player contributes to winning or stabilizing rounds beyond raw kills alone. A high KAST can reflect consistent impact: for example, a player might go 10/15/7 but still post a strong KAST because they assisted on executes, stayed alive after planting, and was traded in rounds where the team traded efficiently. Because it includes survival and trades, KAST helps compare players whose roles are not always focused on top fragging.
