The main roles in League of Legends are Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot (also known as ADC), and Support. Each role has its own specific responsibilities during the game. The Top laner typically plays champions that are tanky or carry-heavy, the Jungle role focuses on roaming and securing objectives, Mid laners focus on damage and control, Bot laners deal damage from a distance, and Supports help protect and assist the team.
The Jungle role is unique because it involves moving through the jungle areas between lanes, securing objectives like dragons and Baron, and ganking lanes to assist teammates. Unlike other roles, junglers don’t have a fixed lane but influence all lanes by controlling resources, providing vision, and supporting their team with well-timed ganks.
The Bot lane consists of two players. Those two players are the ADC and the Support. The ADC is responsible for dealing significant damage in the late game, while the Support assists with vision, crowd control, and protecting the AD Carry during the early game. The synergy between these two players is critical to winning the lane and setting up for late-game objectives.
